Venerable trees became botanic nature monuments in Odessa, Ukraine
Yes, not only beautiful sculptures and old Odessa buildings are worth being called monuments, but trees also. Odessa City Council has issued a decision to approve recognition of two old trees to be botanic nature monuments of local significance.
Both trees are situated at Odessa’s Chernomorskaya Street just in front of the buildings No.4 and No.6. These are “Lemme’s Oak” and “Lemme’s Linden” trees. Hopefully, this case starts a new good initiative of protecting such peculiar “monuments”, and very soon we will see a lot of trees with memorable tablets beside them. Anyway, if you decide to come to this city, you can rent apartments Odessa in one of these houses and enjoy the view of the “monuments” daily.
